Mt Barker case study

Joanne Elson, a member of the South Australian Independent Retailers (SAIR) and IGA board, as well as the sustainability committee, made history as the first IGA store owner to pioneer the trial of an ARECO nebulisation system in Mt Barker.


The trial, conducted from October 7, 2021, to December 7, 2021, aimed to gather the following impacts of nebulisation on:


  • The conservation of fresh produce

  • Labour

  • Sales

  • Plastic usage
